Geoff Cooch
Partner and Director

Geoff is from a varied background in the industry. Having started out on the construction side as a QS in Essex, and then moving to east London Local Authorities to gain experience in the Public Sector where he qualified as RICS, Chartered Building Surveyor.

Keen to get back into the private sector, he joined a professional mixed practice of Building Surveyors, Valuers and Architects based in Fleet Streetin the City of London. This is where he fell in love with the City and its buildings, history, street pattern and diversity.

In June 1989, Geoff had the opportunity to take the consultancy option and made the move to self-employment with all the freedoms and risks that go with it. “It’s been a roller coaster 31 years”. Seeing governments and recessions come and go but wouldn’t have had it any other way.

As a Practice, Cooch & Associates have been lucky enough to count the following as their regular Clients; the largest commercial Bank in the UK, the most prestigious Local Authority of them all and the most dynamic and forward looking East End Local Authority. As well as leading London Universities and a major east of England County.

We have a holistic attitude to our works and the Clients we work with, making it our business to know their business and values, in the assured knowledge that relationships mean repeat business.
Geoff qualified as a Chartered Building Surveyor in 1983 and progressed to Fellow in 1995 following the completion of a post graduate RICS Diploma in Building Conservation taken at Reading University.
Andrew Cooch
Partner and Director

After spending time travelling, Andrew was unsure where his career path would take him and at a young age was quite convinced he did not want to do what his “dad does”. The office would have been full of papers and drawings stacked up on drawing boards back then. But something obviously sparked his imagination.

Andrew started with Cooch and Associates in 2003 to get a feel for the surveying profession and decided he quite enjoyed the work. He began his surveying career studying at Anglia Ruskin University. Soon after he started working for another firm elsewhere, and in 2007 an opportunity presented itself to re-join Cooch and Associates.

Andrew really enjoys working in a small team. This allows him to be involved in all areas of surveying. And has been lucky enough to have worked on some interesting projects. The main attraction for Andrew is the work diversity and being able to see a project through from the initial client brief to design and the construction phase.

Andrew completed a Property and Survey (Hons) degree in 2009. From 2011 to 2014 continued his studies and completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Surveying – Construction at the College of Estate Management. Andrew is currently working towards his APC and towards the Final Assessment. We will keep you posted on his progress.
